First Outing with Shiva

One day we planned an outing to Kumarakom, all of a sudden. It was the first outing after Shiva's birth. My sweet Shiva is so smart at driving!!!

This is not a big matter !

It was for the first time Shiva and me enjoying the beauty of a lake from the house boat. So we were so excited.

Shiva crawled all around in the boat and her acha was too busy taking her snaps and the best among them were clicked by me.


Shiva attended a marriage function for the first time, when she was 3 months. She was not ready to give her face to camera :)

Then we attended another marriage function when she was 6 months old.

In between, we watched a lot of movies and had hang outs in the malls. To our surprise, shiva never made any problem while in the theatre, such a darling girl :). My amma used to say, I never allowed her to watch a movie till My 3rd year :).

Shiva is a calm, less crying girl when compared with my childhood :)

Sixth Month-Experiencing new tastes !!

On March 22nd, we had her annaprasan at the famous Guruvayoor temple. 

Thulabharam of my sweet girl was done on the same day. 

Apart from her pleasant nature, this happy go lucky girl started crying upon seeing the crowd in the temple and may be because of suffocation.

 She completed the whole rituals with a big cry!!

She might have thought, what the hell was going on. She didn't seem to enjoy the payasam as well. Her mind was telling me, Amma!let's escape from here :)

Thereafter we went to Anakotta, to see the elephants and Shiva back in her mood :)

From there onwards we started giving her rice with ghee and salt, which later became her favorite dish. :):)

Yeah! She did it !

Five - my favorite and lucky number. I didn't start my night shift. I am thankful for my Admin and team mates for this favour. I could enjoy sleep with Ponnu, we call her Ponnu, Chachu etc..the child might be getting confused :)

But whenever we call her these names, she know it is her. And added to my pleasure, she called me AMMA !!!! So really, I am loving the number five. My baby called me amma in her 5th month. 

Mommy and Me :)

She whispered Am-ma, Am-ma.  One day she showed the symptoms of sitting by her own. She started playing koo-koo and responsed to each and every sound. She find it an interesting game and her granma was busy teaching her new games :)

She was very happy to get the freedom to scroll here and there. It was really a tough time for us, but still we enjoyed it.


By the end of 5th month, Shiva was getting ready to take her annaprasam (ceremony of giving rice for the first time)

In three months itself, Shiva tried to stand on her knees.

Besides these happines, I was feeling tensed, as I had to join back to job soon, which I never wanted to! obviously:)

The sad part was my shifts!! I started hating night shifts....My baby wants me to be with her at night , moreover I don't want to miss her at nights. Till then we slept together....




Days were flying like minutes. Our little angel became 4 months. We started introducing solid foods (Kurukk). First day she showed very interest towards it and later onwards, not at all interested :)

By this time she mastered rolling over and hence we removed our cot to avoid her falling. And the hardwork to crawl was really amazing.

Till 2 months she cried regularly at 1.30 AM in the night and spoiled the sleep of everyone. It was like a routine for her. :)
Fortunately everything changed and she became the most sweet and calm baby I ever see. She started sleeping with me, whole night without any cries or worries. Still continues :)

Shiva holded her head up in two months and by three months she could steadily hold her head and lifted shoulder to try mini push-ups :)

 She started talking to us using normal gurgling and cooing sounds..

She showed happiness when we made her sit on our lap.

It was so fast my sweet Shiva became one month old. For my added joy, she started identifying me by the second week itself and smiles flashes at her face somtimes :), which was making my life worthy.

When she stared at me, smiled at me, and sometimes, lifted her little head to look around, my heart was beating fast with over-joy.

She started responding to my sound and identified that I am her Amma (Oh God! how lucky I am:)) Sometimes she made aha-oho sounds....

2nd Month

We bought  a cradle for her, but she never like to sleep in that. She was with me always, from the very first day of birth.

 She was making our life so precious. I was confined to her world. It was all my life.

Hey! I GOT THE NAME-SHIVANI!!

It was on 14th November, Shiva got her name. Yeah! the naming ceremony (28 Kettu) was on Nov 14 2009. We called her SHIVANI!!
